Youíre King Tut, ruler of Upper and Lower Egypt. Itís a big job being Pharaoh, but somebody has to do it. And letís face it. Being Pharaoh is awesome. People treat you like a rock star. Still, forget taking nice, leisurely walks along the Nile River. Everyone bows to you and wants you to bless their children. But itís good to be famous. You donít really mind the attention.

Today starts out like any other day. You take your royal bath. Eat your royal figs. And then you head to the throne room. Uncle Horemheb is already there waiting for you. He scowls at you because youíre a half hour late, like thatís any big deal. You ignore him and sit on your throne. Youíre now ready to hold court.

The first petitioners come before you. Two women are fighting over a baby. An old man requests fancy burial arrangements. A farmer complains of dying crops because the Nile River isnít bringing in enough water. Youíve heard it all before . . . except for the Nile River part. The irrigation should be working perfectly. You wonder if you should check it out yourself.

If you stay in the throne room, listening to more petitioners, click here.
